Ferdinand De Saussure


Ferdinand De Saussure, the swiss linguist who is generally considered to be the founder of modern structural linguistics and therefore the grandfather of structuralism. His ideas went on to lie a foundation for future developements in linguistics.
A few years after Saussure's death in 1913, some of his former students published a book upon notes they had made on his lectures.
